Through the Florida Resilient Coastlines Program, DEP continues its efforts to help ensure collaboration among Florida’s coastal communities, and to offer technical assistance and funding to coastal communities dealing with increasingly complex flooding, erosion and habitat shifts.

The Sustainable Initiatives Programs, which are voluntary, non-regulatory programs within the Department of Environmental Protection that assist Florida industry and residents in protecting Florida’s environment. The initiatives focus on recycling, waste and energy reduction, water conservation, air quality, etc. and currently include two programs: the Florida Green Lodging Program and the Florida Green School Designation Program.
