Sustainable and Resilient Remediation
Policy
USEPA Region 5 (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and 35 tribes) Greener Cleanup Interim Policy. The purpose of the policy is to enhance the environmental benefits of federal cleanup programs by promoting technologies and practices that are sustainable. This policy applies to all Superfund cleanups including those performed by potentially responsible parties, states or tribes through cooperative agreements, USEPA and/or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer contractors, and federal facilities; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act corrective action cleanups performed under USEPA oversight; USEPA-led leaking underground storage tank cleanups; and cleanup work implemented through USEPA’s Brownfields Grant Program.

The key objective of this study is to identify the vulnerability of ODOT’s transportation infrastructure to climate change effects and extreme weather events. The analysis includes a discussion and analysis of the type of transportation assets vulnerable, the degree of exposure, sensitivity, adaptive capacity, and the potential approaches to adapt to these changes.

This work supported updates to the Chagrin River Watershed Partners (CRWP) model comprehensive stormwater code and confirmed the value of adopting and implementing comprehensive stormwater, flood damage reduction, and riparian setback regulations for flood resilience. The projects were administered by CRWP and/or communities within the Chagrin River watershed.
